The Finish Line - Or is it just the Beginning?

For many students, the end of the academic year is just around the corner. There is however, one final challenge for English students: Paper 2 English Language. After months of revision, practice papers and hard work, the finish line is finally in sight.
At SC Tuition, I have been incredibly proud of the determination shown by students this year. Regardless of where they are aiming, they have kept going even with revision was difficult.
It is a bittersweet moment for me as a tutor. I have watched students grow in confidence, tackle difficult texts, improve their writing and achieve things they did not think possible last year.
At this stage there is very little point in cramming. The best thing students can do is trust the work they have already put in.
A good night's sleep, a walk with a dog, a favourite meal, chatting with friends or a few moments away from revision can often be more helpful than another hour staring at notes.
English is not about memorising facts. It is about thinking, communicating and expressing ideas. Those skills have been developing all year.
To every student preparing for their final paper: take a breath. You have done the hard work. Now is the time to show what you can do.
And remember, whatever happens on exam day, the results do not define you, nor are they the end of your story.
Good luck
Sarah
